| Husky History |
|
Husky Corporation was formed in 1947, when Grenville Sutcliffe and his wife Hazel developed the first gas guard to protect a car from being scratched by a nozzle during fueling.
Building a line of products based on that first gas guard, Husky Corporation has become an industry leader in research and development with more than 50 U.S. patents and trademarks. Ever concerned about the safety issues related to the petroleum dispensing industry, Husky Corporation is heavily involved in hearings, workshops and field trials throughout the United States and Europe, working with governmental entities to develop policies and standards that promote safety and economic development. Because many of the rules affecting the petroleum dispensing industry come out of the California Air Resources Board (CARB), Husky Corporation works closely with CARB to meet and exceed industry standards. In addition, Husky participates with the Society of Automotive Engineers, a national organization, providing a forum for regulators to set industry standards for automobile design, pollution control design and component compatibility. On a local level, Husky is dedicated to its community through active involvement in many business, civic and industry groups. Husky continues its aggressive course of protecting the environment and the consumer, and invests in research, technology and people to ensure that the future will bring ever cleaner and safer delivery methods at the pump. |
