| Controls applicable to gasoline retailers and wholesale purchasers-consumers |

The following information was taken from the Federal Register,
Part II, Environmental Protection Agency, 40 CFR Part 80.
§ 80.20 40 CFR Ch. 1 (7-1-90 Edition) After July 1, 1974 every retailer shall equip all gasoline pumps, and after January 31, 1975 every wholesale purchaser-consumer shall equip all gasoline pumps as follows: (1) Each pump from which leaded gasoline is introduced into motor vehicles shall be equipped with a nozzle spout having a terminal end with an outside diameter of not less than 0.930 inch (2.363 centimeters). (2) Each pump from which unleaded gasoline is introduced into motor vehicles shall be equipped with a nozzle spout which meets the following specifications: (i) The outside diameter of the terminal end shall not be greater than 0.840 inch (2.134 centimeters); (ii) The terminal end shall have a straight section of at least 2.5 inches (6.34 centimeters) in length and; (iii) The retaining spring shall terminate 3.0 inches (7.6 centimeters) from the terminal end. No. 55 / Wednesday, March 24, 1993/ Rules and Regulations § 80.22 After January 1, 1998 every retailer and wholesale purchaser-consumer shall equip each pump from which gasoline or methanol is introduced into motor vehicles with a nozzle that dispenses fuel at a flow rate not to exceed 10 gallons per minute. |
