SGA Loading Arm

The RS Loading Arm can be used with dry breaks, breakaways, or special attachment couplings available in the RS brand (produced by Stäubli Hamburg GmbH).

Moving large volumes of liquids or chemicals is a demanding task that must be accomplished quickly and efficiently. But above all, safely. Chemical and pharmaceutical companies require loading systems to transfer their important products to customers in the safest manner possible.

The RS SGA Loading Arm offers an excellent solution, providing easy and safe movement of the transfer hose to and from the loading vehicle or car from a stowed position. The operators are not required to lift the hose, which is often exceedingly heavy. The loading arm supports all the weight of the hose, coupling and the material being transferred. Any type of hose can be used with the SGA loading arm along with dry breaks, breakaways, or special attachment couplings

"We've found the benefits to be exactly what we were looking for. It de-cluttered the workspace and improved handling by the operators. They no longer have to lift and drag the unloading hose across the gangway to the railcar. Plus, the arm lowering and lifting mechanism by the railcar makes it easy for them to work around the fall protection cage."

RS Liquid Loading Arm: Simple Design

Unlike expensive swivel and pipe alternatives, the RS Loading Arm provides a more cost-efficient solution. The key lies in the design, which permits ergonomic handling of heavy hose lines up to 20 feet long by a single operator. A series of stainless or galvanized steel sections -- engineered to support the entire weight of the product and hose assembly – are connected using maintenance-free swivels to create a flexible mechanism for easy mobility. At the same time, the design makes it impossible to damage hoses by bending them beyond their safe limits.

Less Work; Better Results

Operators simply move the loading arm into position, connect the hose assembly for either top or bottom loading/unloading of tankers or railcars, then uncouple the assembly and move the loading arm back into its storage position when finished. Height adjustment features are available to raise and lower the end coupling to different connecting heights. A single loading arm can also be designed to handle more than one hose assembly simultaneously.
